What is Windows Defender Offline
Windows Defender Offline is a Microsoft security utility, which is designed as a non-graphical user interface tool to run during operating system boot time. Virus, malware, and other malicious software will load itself as part of the bootable files, meaning they are loaded during the boot process, which makes them hard to detect and remove. Windows Defender Offline is an excellent tool to target these unwanted viruses before they get a chance to load.
This utility is bootable only, so you must create a bootable medium to use the tool. Windows Defender Offline will create either a bootable CD or USB drive that users use to boot from and run the utility. This tool is free to download and requires 250 MB of free space on the medium you decide to create. Windows Defender Offline version 4.4304.0 is currently only available in 32 bits.
